The Buck Creek Area of the lake is known for its remote and secluded location. That being said, we highly recommend you stop at a full service grocery store on your way to "the lake".
The Pioneer Store, located 5 miles away in Protem, carries all your staples and necessities: gasoline, milk, eggs, bread/buns, beer/alcohol, chips, soda, water, and much much more!
The Dinner Bell Cafe is located within a mile of the resort. It is open for breakfast and lunch. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. They are especially nown for their "fried pies"! Stop in and try one!
Tony's Pizza is also within a mile of the resort. It is open for lunch and dinner. They serve a variety of pizza, pasta, hamburgers, tacos and soft serve ice cream. You may want to wind down your day by taking a break and having an ice cold beer at Tony's.
Buck Creek Boat Dock is the closest marina to the resort. Located a short 1/2 mile away, it is a full service marina with gas, oil, bait and tackle, and souvenirs.
Buck Creek Park, within walking distance, is a beautiful park at the water's edge offering camping, swimming, children's playground, and a large pavilion. It is operated by the Army Corps of Engineers.
Looking for a place to boat to for breakfast, lunch or dinner? Wagon Wheel Cafe is located in the Highway 125 Recreation Area just past the ferry on the Arkansas side of the lake. They are famous for their hamburgers and milkshakes. Or make the trip to Theodosia and dine at Cookies Restaurant. My personal favorite dessert...brownie pie! Just Jackie's, up the hill from the Pontiac Cove Marina, also offers pizza and a variety of other items. Looking for something a little fancier? Try Gaston's on The White River.
Theodosia, located 20 minutes away, offers a small grocery store, marine repair, a local hardware store, a tire shop, and several more restaurants.
The sites and sounds of Branson are not too far away. An hour's drive will get you to outlet malls, caves, golf courses, Silver Dollar City, and much more.
Wildlife such as deer, bobcat, fox, roadrunners, blue heron and other critters abound in our area. You may want to bring your binoculars, as you may be privileged enough to catch a glimpse of a bald eagle flying overhead.
