We would personally like to invite you to visit Lakewoods Resort. We are proud of what Lakewoods has to offer you, and know that you will be satisfied with our facilities. There is no better place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life, than to relax with family and friends at the pool, swim dock, or take in the gorgeous scenery of the Ozarks. Although we will meet as strangers, we will part as friends.
Your hosts while at Lakewoods will be Kevin and Sandy Schubert. We purchased the resort in April of 2000. We had been searching for the right lake for approximately one year. Upon visiting a local resort, our host was kind enough to take us out on beautiful Bull Shoals. We instantly knew this was the lake for us. The beautiful landscape, the crystal clear waters, the uncrowdedness of the lake and the area were a perfect match for our lifestyle. Our search then turned to purchasing the right resort. After researching our options thoroughly, we decided upon Lakewoods Resort. It had a wonderful return clientele, endless possibilities, and unlimited potential for improvement and growth. So here we are, almost 11 years later, looking forward to each new day and season.
We live here, year round with our kids - two labradors. Katie is a 3 year old yellow lab, and Mr. Magoo is an old chocolate lab. They can be found most mornings walking around the resort, checking on things, and seeing if anyone might have any breakfast leftovers. Mr. Magoo also enjoys an evening stroll...just about the time people start barbequing. He will be happy to help supervise what ever you have cooking on the grill!!
Prior to our life as resort owners, we lived on 60 acres outside Stratford, Iowa. Kevin worked for the State of Iowa as a meat and livestock inspector, and Sandy as a director of a childcare center. We raised three wonderful daughters. Dena, is married and still resides in Iowa. Michelle, is also married and lives in Colorado. Jenna is our youngest and lives in Springfield, Missouri, where she attends Missouri State University.
In addition to owning and operating a resort, Kevin drives the school bus, and Sandy teaches preschool at our local school. Kevin also takes care of vacationers' docks while they are away from the lake.
We believe the key to owning a successful resort is creating a welcoming environment while offering clean accommodations and updated facilities that guests return to every year.
